S.O.P.
FOLLOW ORDERS: You can be a crack shot, you can be the king of CQB, you can be an ace pilot, you can be Level 100 with 50,000 certs but it doesn’t matter if you don’t listen to your squad leader!! Your opinion can be shared in text – do NOT openly question your squad leaders orders on voice. Ever.
A Star To Guide You: Your Squad Leader will have a star next to his name. As a squad member your #1 job is to support the SL and be in visual range of him at all times unless assigned to a different job. The SL of Alpha, Bravo, Charlie will be the ‘babysitter’ of the points as they are being taken (see below for Delta). You will report to them for assignments at those cap points. A on Alpha, B on Bravo, etc. When taking a base with generators Bravo will be on the horizontal, Charlie on the vertical. Alpha on the point. Delta securing the perimeter. Flip the point and camp the enemy spawn room.
Map
Move as a Team: If you are in a squad, you should be sticking with your SL. Sometimes you die however (it happens) and you will need to respawn. In a live fire situation you will check your squad/platoon list to see if any other soldiers are also dead. You can do this by looking at the S/P list and there will be a little skull & crossbones by their name. If there are you should wait for them to respawn and go in together. Once you make it back into the fight, you will find your SL and rejoin the squad. There will be times when the SL/PL orders you to stay at a position, a tube or launch pad, and wait to move in. You are expect to follow those orders.
Evens & Odds: The default squad composition that has proven to be most effective!! Squad numbers 2,4,6,8 will all be MAX units teamed up with the odd numbers 1,3,5,7 as engineers. 1 with 2, 3 with 4, 5 with 6, and 7 with 8. The remaining squad mates will be comprised of 2-3 medics an infiltrator and a LA, HA or another MAX.
SIT REP Precise callouts: When calling out targets you will do so from reference point of the Platoon waypoint if at a base or the vehicle you are in if on route. If you do not use the term ‘friendly’ in front of gal or sundy it is assumed you are talking about an enemy one. Always think SEL before giving situational updates. Keep it short, quick and to the point.
Size Enemies, Squad, Squads, Platoon, Platoons? Equipment Infantry, heavies, prowlers, ESF, bombers, sunderers? Location Distance and relative direction from platoon waypoint and direction (speed if relevant) of travel. If coming to waypoint just say “Incoming from <direction>.“
Smoke em if you Got em: Smoke signals will be used by platoon and squad leaders to designate targets of interest. They will be set up on your arrival or departure at enemy bases.
Purple Pickup or where the Sundy or Gal is.
Purple Something Good like ammo tower or rally point.
Purple Enemy Sunderer
Purple Enemy spawn point (Orange you glad you know where they’re coming from)
Squad Tactics: Alpha through Charlie cover the caps/gens, defend the points and stay with their squad leaders. Delta is the ‘black ops’ or ‘shadow squad’ made up not only of cloakers, but entirely of support classes also including engineers and medics. Deltas job is to cap outliers, recon enemy positions and take down sundies.
Spawn Points: IF the sunderer is under fire EVERYONE should spawn in as engineers FIRST and fix it. This is ESSENTIAL to keeping our spawn points alive. Always have one sundy on stand by next to your current one. It means that in the platoon there should be 8 sundies always available. If your squads sunderer goes down, designate someone to go back to closest place and pull another!! Or 2!! (This is our biggest problem that I can see. People are way too busy fighting they forget about spawn point and the lack of it.)
Deploy and Annoy: As we move around the battlefield, we use sunderers, galaxies, and tanks and do a lot of foot zerging. Along with this we have spawn beacons, squad deploy(20 min CD), and ways to get us to a fight. It’s the redeploy key(delete). This is our secondary mode of transportation while rolling with DREV. You will be required to move via the re-deploy option when told with very little notice. Everyone redeploy means everyone!! Not just those who aren’t in vehicles...especially if back to the warp gate.
Dance to the Music: Unless you are in a live fire situation once you hear the voice and music before a cap you will proceed to your sunderer(purple smoke) (or generators for repairs) or another rally point. If the PL or SL wants they can override it and inform you they want you to stay till the very end. But in most situations you will prepare to roll out when you hear the music. By the time the cap goes through and the music ends you should be loaded and on your way to the next point.
Careless Talk Costs Lives: You first log on and say "Hey, what continent are we on?" STOP DOING THAT!!! Platoon leaders are in the middle of giving orders in a heavy battle and get interrupted by you asking...then another guy 5 mins later asking. Here’s the SOP on logging into the game: Hit up the teamspeak 3 first then hit PS2. Look for the outfits platoon...which there’s one up 99.999% of the time. After joining the platoon hit your map and look through the continents. Talk with your squad mates to see what’s up and proceed to helping us shit on enemy forces. Easy as Buckeye’s mother, right!!? Keep worthless chatter out of COMs please!!
Squad Awareness: Take a look at your squad’s composition OFTEN!! Always know what number you are and what squad you are in because it can change at anytime. Make sure the squad has a good mix of classes. Especially have an infiltrator or two when dropping in on a new location. Always have medics and keep your medics alive!! Stick together and we will go far!! GO DREV!!
